I noted that 'libwx_macu-2.8.0.dylib' was hard coded to look for the libs in /opt/local/lib/ so I copied (cp) all of the libs from VLC into /opt/local/lib/
#Mkvtoolnix os x for mac os#
all of the required libs (and more I assume) come bundled with version 0.9.9a of VLC for Mac OS X.

By checking my /var/log/system.log I was able to figure out that MKVtoolNix, specifically, 'libwx_macu-2.8.0.dylib' was looking for some fairly common linux type lib files. When I run MKVtoolNix v2.7.0 (as packaged by JonThn) it crashes instantly. however - there appears to be no way to contact 'JonThn from the doom9 forum' (I'm not about to register at whatever forum, etc, etc).īasically a bunch of libraries are missing under Mac OS X - it's a preety reasonable guess that "JonThn" made the assumption that all Mac users have something called "Mac Ports" installed. Original reporter: realize that (as stated on your website) "I do not support the binary packages available below as they were all contributed by third parties.".
